Does anyone know of a good source for lead? I am looking to get a little more, and might start pouring some bullets, once I buy a black powder gun. Been getting some from ebay, sometimes can find it for about $1.25 per lb shipped.

I use the do-it uv seal coat to coat my jigs. Does anyone know how I should go about thinning it? The rest of my 4oz container looks like thick snot and curious if I can thin it? Supposedly water based, so could I with just a little water?

I just built me up a 9'6" Crappie jigging rod. I used the MHX 1142 steelhead blank. I had a little issue with the thread finish. I was using the FlexCoat High Build, and it never did completely dry. It was still real "tacky" feeling at places. I was thinking maybe it was from the humidity...

Well, I pinned up my pony mold and my round head mold. Came out good. Recessed a couple of the 1/16th pins to give a hammer head look. Might work, look like the minnows that get the bulge eye. My aquarium fish get from time to time.

Well finished up my rod. Spiral wrapped the first 3 guides. Here's a few pics. The finish is still a little tacky, but it's a 9' for crappie jigging. Put marks at 6" intervals for depth measurements. I know, I got the label a little crooked. Next thing is to see how it fishes. Too bad...

Well, I got my replacement blank today and epoxied up the handle. How is this for balance? I still have 3 guides and to put wrap finish on, so it still might end up a little tip heavy, but should turn out to be a pretty good 9' jig rod for my first build.
