Love the drop shot technique for all species. What I don't care for is the cost. While researching I came across this Thailand guy tying a great drop shot rig using any kind of straight shank hook. So easy I perfected it after several mishaps.
Step One Run line thru eye of hook
Step Two...
Over the years and many experiments later. This has proved to be the most tangle free set up for vertical jigging any blade bait. Simple wire closed loop one end and either spring or wire crimp over the other. Walleyes don't seem to care much about the extra hardware. If anything it seems to...
Looking to buy these as pictured. Wire not plastic guard. Size 4 or Size 2 hook. Either sickle hook or standard jig hook. Gold or red hook. 1/24 oz or 1/16 oz .
Want 50 of them to experiment this spring. Can be all one of these sizes or mixture. If you want to make these either pm me or post...
Been working on these since a few years back. If some of you remember old thread about John Fujita's No-Name lure. Jack Fujita ( his nephew) sold me some of the old original No-Names so I could compare with the ones I was making. Basically I quit worrying about trying to imitate the curved front...
Wife decided to do a remodel of our one and only bathroom. She hired the best contractor she could find. This guy was aces from the get go. Project done ahead of time and everything was super.
The electrical sub contractor heard me inquire the super guy about getting my central air fixed...
Haven't used me old buggy whip in a decade or so. Noticed quite a lot of surface activity on previous trip to a local pond. So I packed my little 4 weight a handfull of bluegill baits.
I forgot how much pure fun gills can be with the flea rod. It was pure murder and the strikes were downright...
Started playing with these a bit after finding them on the internet. Guy calls them Crappie Smoothie. I did not tie exactly as he did. Used silver thread instead of mono. Did use the Magic Stretch for body and tail. Used tiny glass beads instead of caddis beads. Will post follow up pic when I...
I have apparently forgot how to fish. This has been the worst year for me as far as putting fish in boat. Last year when son vacationed here for a week we almost got tired of catching them. This year our best day we only managed 12 keepers. All of our local lakes that I fish have been more...
While technically not jig. Thought this might interest a few people. While doing some ice fishing research. I ran across these lure as a perch killer. Well I was going to order a few to play with this year. But I balked at the asking price and decided to make a few for myself.
They tip these...
I have posted here before about buying old fly tying materials on ebay and other places. The other day I ran across a small hank of polar bear. Which I believe is banned now days Anyway have heard old timers that tied express how much they liked the stuff. So I tied these three to try at some...

Always looking for an edge on ice fishing. Since this year has been a bust . Going to be setting one of these bad boys up for next year. Already have the PS 21 panoptix and it really helped on my boat fishing. Why I didn't consider its...

Figured I would post a pic of what I am hunting for. On the rear end of lure is the clear plastic part. Don't have a clue as to what it is called But would like to experiment with part if available somewhere. My idea is to glue on end of jig and see if I can make a swim jig. Seen somewhere on...
Right up front big fish of trip was not mine or my sons. But a poor old guy that a muskie had worn to a frazzle . As we were launching my boat at start of vacation trip. I did a last second glance from boat as my son was backing the boat in. Heard the old guy yelling for help. Ran over to him...
Decided to take a shore fishing trip and leave boat at home. Always like to hit the first warm rain of Spring. Couple caveats gentle sprinkle is best so water don't get too muddy and wind 10mph or less. Usually those conditions ring the dinner bell for crappie. Such was the case today. Along...
