Decided to take a shore fishing trip and leave boat at home. Always like to hit the first warm rain of Spring. Couple caveats  gentle sprinkle is best so water don't get too muddy and wind 10mph or less. Usually those conditions ring the dinner bell for crappie. Such was the case today. Along with the 18 I kept. Probably threw twice that number back as I set 10-1/2 in as my limit today. Also caught 4 gills and 4 cat daddies all channel cats. Got some slabbers with heavy shoulders and some just barely over the self imposed 10 1/2.

Anyway got to test me fancy smantzy new stringer today,

Really nice mess of crappie, looks like the blacks were bigger than the whites. For crappie like that I would leave the boat home too.
