    Rattle Swimmer

I am working on some hand tied twitch baits for inshore fishing. I have been building them on a 2/0 EC 635, a brass rattler, 1/10 lead barbell, 1/16 scud weight and mardi gras beads for an eye spot. Good action on these and I hope to catch a few on this pattern that I adapted from the Buggs...

    Bunny chickens

1/16, #4, double bunny tied in an electric chicken pattern for Crappie.

    1/16 Tube head jigs

I will tie some more shrimp on these using roughly the same pattern only with barred 1/4 rabbit with natural and some contrast colors. I will get the eyes up close to the hook eye exposing just a bit of the head. Medium wire hook , 3/0 wide gap & round eye fished under a sliding float for Specks...

    Help with olives?

I thought I had a pretty good light olive and a olive until they cured. I need to olive these up a bit and adding green is not helping. Anyone have the recipes?

    Inshore streamer jigs

A few attempts with a 1/8 oz., 2/0 long shank Owner for multi species. The yellow is shlappen barred with a sharpie, palmered marabou & Estaz and the white is neck hackle mottled with a sharpie, palmered marabou and cactus chenille.

    Nail jig

I always liked the Shiney Hiney style head for the slow, level drop and the flash. I found some 3/0, 1/8 nail jigs and plastic eyes that I had and trimmed off some lead and bent the hooks to imitate the pattern.  The shrimp is a Shiney Hiney and the shad is my tie. I like the heads for the flash...

    Flats Jig Deceiver

I am going to paint and tie up some of these 3/16th, 1/0 flats heads using a deceiver pattern to target Speckled Trout. I usually use these heads for tying shrimp patterns to crawl on the bottom but I noticed that they swim really well and do not foul much in the grass. I figure that pattern...

    Shrimp

1/8, #1 flats jig that I will test inshore. Trying to find a way to integrate the plastic skirt with my crab and shrimp patterns.

    Crawfish Jig

3/8 oz. heads with 2/0 Owner hooks that took a bit too much glitter to use on the flats so I tied up some crawfish imitators. I tried a few tied sparsely and went back to the fuller profile after seeing them wet. 2 tips on each claw and 3 Vs per side of saltwater hackle. 1/2" of silicone...

Just started. A few lessons learned.

I finally got around to try my hand at tying some 1/16 crappie jigs and learned a few lessons in short order. Neck hackle is not the same as saltwater hackle. The blood red is neck hackle. Cut and stack Vs and tips. Tie in all at once. Tie in flash before hackle. Much easier and looks better...

    Inshore and freshwater heads

Got em all painted up. From Trout and Reds to Bass and Crappie. 1/16 and 1/8 for tying and plastics with some horse & donkey heads.

    Lure ID?

I found these in an old tackle bag mixed in with some Charlie Brewer Sliders and pony heads. They look to be about a #4 hook, but beyond that, I have no idea what I had them for. At least 20 years old and maybe some sort of trolling rig. ????

    Jig Mail

I received a care package from Ronnie (StumpHunter) today with a fantastic assortment of beautiful jigs to help me get an idea of what will work on the local rivers. Absolutely stunning jigs: I was inspired to paint a set of jigs to get started on tying some myself. 1/16 crappie and a few 1/8 &...

    I need some freshwater jigs.

Back to the freshwater on the Pascagoula River for the near future due to a recent surgery and the risk of Vibrio in the brackish & saltwater. I am looking for a dozen 1/32 or lighter Bream / Crappie jigs to fish under floats. The water can run from clear to muddy so looking for a mix of...

    Jig or Fly?

I recently experimented with the Fish Skulls heads as I liked the look of the Deceiver pattern on it and wanted to fish it as a swimming jig on spinning gear for Speckled Trout. The Fish Skull head on a "streamer fly" performs the same function as a jig head in this application. Making the...

    Fish Skull Deceiver

My first attempt with these heads and I like them better than the cones and barbells so far. Bucktail, hackle, Peacock herl, opal flash & synthetic throat. I will need some practice and better quality with the feathers. It actually throws well with spinning gear.

    Shrimp teasers for Pompano

#2 Owner Flyliner, chenille, crimped nylon & flash. I tried using feathers last year and they got beat up by the other toothy critters in the surf. My first try with chenille and these should hold up better and work well. I do have some "Baitfish" chenille coming from Crazy Angler that may be...
