    First Day Out

Today was the first day out with my new (used) boat. I fished Okatibbee Res. with two friends, Steve and Wayne. We got on the water at 5:15am and they quit biting around 8 or so. Ok with me, it was getting hot! This was my first trial with jigs I tied. We kept 18 crappie and 1 small cat. This is...

    Curing Powder Paint

I'm still pretty new at this, but learning as I go. I was having trouble with having too much PP on my heads so that when I cured them, they looked like they had a swollen nose. I might help another "Newbee" by telling the steps I take now that seem to work pretty well. I heat my heads for 3...

    Tin Horse Heads

I got some horse heads from sac-a-lait (on C.com) yesterday as a bonus when I bought his boat. He pours them using tin. They stay shiny, all I did to the heads was a spot of black NP for eyes. A 1/4 oz sized head weighs about 1/8 oz.. Should be killer long-lining.

    Trying New Stuff (again)

Been doing some more experimenting. First I tied a few jigs using buck tail for the body. Awkward tying but looks ok. Also I downloaded the Photobucket app on my iPhone and took the pic with my phone and sent it to PhotoBucket. Ha! Now I can take pics when my wife is gone with the camera. Scott

Just got some new fish heads from Ron Don and been playing around. Mallard flank makes pretty good fins. It's a bugger to tie though.

How Do You Resize Your Pics

I've been using Photobucket and doing the copy and paste with the IMG code of the photo but my photo is too big when I put it in a post. Is there a way I can post photos straight from a file on my computer? Thanks Scott

    Painting Eyes On Jigheads

There's got to be a better way. I've been painting my eyes, after curing the powder paint, by using my wife's enamel craft paint and dotting the eye with the blunt end of a small paintbrush. Then I come back and dot the black with a toothpick. I cover the eyes with "Hard As Nails" after they...
