I hauled my grandpa out on sunday evening for a little bluegill fishing. Brought a dozen home, caught about 30 fish total. Mostly gills, but a few Kentucky bass and a longear sunfish thrown in for good measure too. Here's two of the bigger ones. I love seeing that "hump" on their head!

Does anyone have a hundred size 8 sickle hooks they'd be willing to part with? I have an idea, and can't find the #8's anywhere... I'd happily trade a dozen and a half or so bluegill or crappie flies for them, or pay. Let me know!

Well, I took the wife out fishing after work today. She had her spinning rod and some of my jigs, I had my fly rod, and we went looking for white bass. She caught the first and last fish, and I caught the rest! A white bass and crappie were added to the stringer after this pic was taken...

Anybody here ever tried powder painting lead dumbbell eyes? Surely it would look better and be more durable than the painted ones that are available.
