Well, this one came off the vise tonight. One of Jungle Jim's pillhead jigs, rabbit tail, black gold chenille body over-wrapped with Senyo's Shaggy Dub. Think this will do the trick under a bobber for some hand-size gills?

Well, I picked up some of Cabela's Fathead walleye jigs in 3/8-oz.... figured I would give them a test drive. What do ya think?

When you are using hackle for tails, how many tips do you use? I just started using hackle this winter and have mainly tied 1/32 oz stuff so far and just use one. However, anything bigger seems to look better with two. Any words of wisdom?

We are all good here so far! My folks had a tornado within 22 miles of their house, and my fishing buddy's folks were within a couple miles of one as well. Gonna be a long night!

Any of you guys use the ESP rods Cabelas sells? I am very seriously looking into the micro-lite model for fishing my super small stuff. It says it is designed for 1/80 to 1/32oz jigs, and I have looked it over pretty good in the store. Carbon fiber handle, and very sensitive...... I am thinking...

Tied up a few soft hackles tonight.... Here's a quick cell phone pic of the pile. Nothing overly fancy, but they catch fish like crazy!

Took me awhile to finish this one, but I figured I would lay all of them out for a picture before I packed them up to ship! 1/32-oz hackle 1/16-oz hackle or marabou 1/8-oz bucktail 1/4-oz bucktail We fish a lot of pretty dirty water here, so I tend to "lean" toward darker or brighter colors...

Finished up a mess of 1/4-oz bucktails last night. Cement's all dry, and all 102 are packaged up! Think these will do the job?

Went out today and did some vertical jigging. The wind was blowing decent, so we couldn't go to the reservoir like we had planned. The whitecaps on the water at 7am convinced us to go to the smaller county lake a few miles away. We couldn't use are small stuff still, and it was an 1/8-oz and up...

I'll get my real camera out and take good pics. But for now, here's what I tied tonight. Some of Redman's custom heads.... I like 'em! We'll see if the fishies do tomorrow. Gadwall flank tail with pink hackle belly.

I won't bore you with more pictures... We caught a bunch more crappie and gills today. I beat my personal best crappie again! Just a 14-incher! 20 crappie, 26 or so gills... Two of the crappie were beautiful blacks, my personal favorite. :)

Alright guys, it's looking like I'm going to be taking a trip north to fish some ice for perch in a couple weeks. What kind of jigs do I need to have with me? Other tackle and tactics? We don't have yellow perch around here, so it's all new territory! Thanks... Zac

Got some 1/64 heads in a trade with Redman here recently. Got some painted and baked last night... Had to tie a few up to try this holiday weekend! Nothing flashy, just simple, effective jigs. What y'all think? Tied another pink/blue/white, and am working on a couple "dirty chickens" now.

1/32oz home-made "stinger" jig and a 12" SLAB! Take two pieces of spinnerbait skirt, knot em. Cut off the tips and put that knot on the end of the tail... Tie in as your tail. Give em the "Genz wiggle" and crappie like it!
