Perch jigs

Alright guys, it's looking like I'm going to be taking a trip north to fish some ice for perch in a couple weeks. What kind of jigs do I need to have with me? Other tackle and tactics? We don't have yellow perch around here, so it's all new territory! Thanks...

If you don't have any spoon droppers..... you NEED some! The Castaway (think thats the brand name) spoons are available almost everywhere - just take off the bottom treble and attach a small jig or bait hook 3"-6" below the spoon. Sweedish pimples are also popular for the spoon droppers. Pound the bottom with the spoon then slowly slowly slowly pull it up off the bottom.

Read alot about people using agressive tactics for perch - jiggin' raps and other swinging baits - but i have not had much luck that way.

Try some of Maynards Flutter Bugs tipped with a spike.. They work great up here for yellow and white perch, and of course crappie... Good luck on your trip!
