I've been thinking about buying a Griffin Odyssey Spider. It would be really nice if there was a local dealer that had one I could try out. Only place where I can get hand's-on with a vice is BPS, and the only rotary vise they have is a Peak.

Allen - I would spend the extra $$ and get the Odyssey Cam version. It is what i use. The cam version makes changing hooks so much more simple than using 2 separate screws/adjustments to change out hook sizes. I tie tiny bluegill hooks up to heavy wire walleye hooks with mine and it just takes turning the thumb screw on the jaw and the flipping the cam to grab the hook. Absolutely all personal preference though. If/when i upgrade, it will most likely be to the Griffin Mongoose Cam.

My Regal is great for putting on butt rings (unbelievably easy) - holding blades - wire - and they hold a hook pretty good

Vises are like shoes - got some for this/for that, nice/comfy

Regal's are like cross country steel toed work boots, you can where to a formal, and dance like a ballerina, well maybe not like a ballerina...
