inline spinners from lure body mold

I poured and painted 3 dozen lure bodies with the do it lure body mold yesterday. 2 dozen 1/8 oz, and 1 dozen 1/16 oz. A lot more time consuming building them this way than using metal beads for weight, but I like the looks of these better. Hope the stocked trout think so as well :D

    1/32 for plastics

Work took me all over town yesterday, and I ended up near Bass Pro at the end of the day. I looked through their (extremely) small tackle craft section, and on the bottom of the shelf, without even a rack to hang it on, sat a Do It RHB-7-A. I don't fish plastics much anymore, but at least now...

    first time pouring

My wife and i don't get Christmas presents for each other, we just buy ourselves something nice that time of year and tell each other Merry Christmas :). I've been wanting to get into pouring my own for a while, so I bought a hot pot 2, and a couple molds...one for round head jigs, and one for...

    first jig in months

Probably haven't tied a jig in six months. I got an order from crazy angler last week of size 0 chenille and powder paint, and yesterday got a few hundred jig heads from fishunter775 on ebay. Painted a few last night and tied one this morning. I stopped at one because I couldn't find my desk...

    back

Life/work/family (wife/3 little kids) has kept me away from fishing and tying for a while, but things are slowly getting back to normal again. Time to start fishing (when there's time), and tying some trout and panfish jigs again. I never posted much, but always enjoyed reading here. I guess...

    Do you tip your jigs?

Since I have started tying my own jigs several months ago I have always tipped them with waxies, mealworms, or crappie nibbles. My wife asked me why I bother with the jigs if I'm always using a worm anyways. I have to admit it made me think :-/ So I told myself next time out I will use the...

    patriotic jig

I'm still pretty new to jig tying, so I haven't ventured into trying anything fancy yet, but tied this up this morning. 1/100th oz, #10 hook, hopefully the trout will like it.

    couple of AZ trout streams

The plan was to fish Canyon Creek last Friday and Saturday, but my father twisted his bum knee the first half hour we were at Canyon, so we spent the rest of the day at Tonto Creek since it was easier for him to fish there. Fishing was slow and the water was muddy, but I did land one stocked...

    family trip

My wife and I took our three kids (6,4,2) camping this past Wednesday through Saturday. The original campground we wanted to stay at on Oak Creek was full, so the first night we went to one at Whitehorse Lake near Williams, AZ. I took my two oldest fishing in the morning and they managed...

    early am bluegill bite

The high last Saturday was supposed to be around 108, so I got up early and made the hour drive to the lower salt river. There's a little cove about 1/2 mile downstream from the Saguaro Lake dam that was full of bluegill last year, so I was hoping some were still there. Got on the water around...

    1/64 panfish/trout jigs

New to the site, and I got a nice PM from AtticaFish welcoming me and encouraging me to show what I've been tying. I've only been tying and painting for 3-4 months but am already hooked. I haven't fished with anything other than my own jigs since I started. I started using jigs last summer...
