I can definitely sympathize. I sold an old toy on eBay last month to a guy in southern California and USPS lost it. According to the tracking report, it left a distribution center in Richland a month ago and poofed into the ether. It was only $25, but I had to refund the money and I'm out the toy as well because it happened to be the one item I decided was too low value to be worth buying insurance.
