This is an old fly pattern called a jassid. Black glitter 1/32oz. head, black ice dub body, black hackle palmered to the head, hackle on top of the hook clipped flat and then a Jungle Cock feather flat on top.

How does that design look in the water? How much do the feathers lay down? Nice looking What kind of flake are you using (brand/size). Only experience the flake took a nose dive melt . I am baking at 325 for 30mins.

Thanks Andy, BK and Jig Man

PB - As an actual dry fly pattern it floats on the surface, but not sure how it's gonna fall on the jig head, I'm hoping with it being 1/32 that the hackle will slow it down. The feathers will lay back jut as when it's a regular dry fly. They won't be in the way, The only reason they sit like that on a flat table is because of the hackle.

On the glitter it's just regular stuff from the craft stores, fine and extra fine size. Tulip brand, color asst packs, Walmart, JoAnnes brand, Michaels - I posted a pic of them in your other thread, I assumed that you were talking about ProTec's glitter clear - over at Tackle Underground alot of the guys commented on it not being all that great. I take clear powder paint and dump my glitter in it and that's it. I heat my jig head, dip the base coat color, heat it back up and dip in what ever glitter mix I want. I cure them for 25 -30 minutes at 320 degrees.

I've posted this before - go to Target, WalMart - where ever and get a In oven thermometer!!! I got this from the guys at TU - they found that even with the setting at 325 or 350 the actual temp inside could be 25+ degrees higher. Regular ovens are the same way put one in and check.

Thanks Zac - I figured you'd be the first one to say it!!! I don't have a cape but back when I was having all the med problems a guy on ebay was selling trim eyes, feathers pulled off to make the capes look nice and neat - I got 50 of them in assorted sizes for $12.

I should have put some nail polish on my fingers and run the feathers through it to fix the splits, I really cant wait to try these ones out!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Hawn - Doing wings on these small #10 hooks in between the head and the hook point makes for some cramped tying!!LOL.

The wet flies I think are actually easier to tie on jigs as you can split the wings on either side of the hook point. I just hope the trout like em this spring!!!!!!!!!
