4mm or 5mm. But you really should flatten the heads first especially for the molded or 3-D eyes. Flat eyes not as important as long as they are not too big.

If they are round heads, easiest is to paint the eyes.
For a 1/4 ounce I would probably use a 3/16 dirll bit for first golor then a 1/8" for the second color. A bit of practice and it is pretty easy.

I considered painting them on but my jigs are powder coated and i was skeptical about the paint sticking . I have experimented with powder painting the eyes but that is pretty tricky to get it right

Jungleboy....I go 4mm or 5mm also. I put a good coat of Sally Hensen clear coat fingernail polish over the top and entire jig head for strength.
