Ate an early dinner and went over to a local upground reservoir close to home to try and catch a mixed bag. Put 2 dozen fillets in the freezer tonight.
Started with a small feather ice jig and waxworm combo pegged 2 foot below my float. I could see the the gills sitting up high in the water from up on top the pump house railing. Could have easily kept 30 but let loose half of them. As it got dark, I switched over to walleye gear but got skunked on those. After taking a walk though, I did spot a bunch of glowing eyes (some big 20+" fish easily) that looked to be actively spawning. 8 to 10 fish in a small 5' radius area. Going to head back up there this week after dark to focus on the walleye ONLY! Fun evening with some warm temps finally.
