Here are my wounded minnows tied with some inspiration from JungleJim1. The top jig is a 1/32oz head painted white with white fish hair tied on the bottom, and chartreuse fish hair tied on the top. I then tied in some gold flash and added the red hackle barbs to coplete the tail and finished it off with a flathead minnow chenille body. The bottom jig is also a 1/32oz head painted white, it has a tail made of white bucktail, silver flash and red hackle barbs and then finished off with a shiner chenille body. I liked the red throat accents on JungleJim1's chub jigs a lot and transfered it to my jigs, and next will be some mallard flanks done in a thread neck but not just yet. I use the chenille on these minnow heads as I like the way it bulks up the body a bit and it helps make the jig a little more buoyant and the guys that I've been tying them for tell me it makes for a really good float-n-fly jig for the way they use them so thats how I go about it but the thread necks are on my list!!

Looking good! Occasionally, I will tye a jig with a single red thread trailing behind or length of the feathers or maribou simulating a blood line. This has been effective for me in the past.
