I really like the way the flank feather's lay "around" the hair. I think it's VIDEO TIME. I sure would like to see/learn that technique. Great ties!!:icon14::icon14:

Glad to help. One tip Jim gave me was to place the feather and put a soft loop to get the feather rolling then tighten. If it doesn't do it undo and try again.

Jigman agree...lot of knowledge.

Pepop went to the pages FM recommended and did a few PM's for little tricks. Just remember the wool under is just a pinch to add a little body. I have also purchased UV flank feathers along with regular. I live on the IL river in central IL "the heart of duck country". This fall I am going to the picker's house to cut a deal. Did not realize how addicting flank would be!! The picker's have burlap bags 8ft long for the buyers to ship out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I had a regular burlap bag full there will be plenty to share. Our early season for teal starts in September and that is where I am going to start!

Thanks for all the kind words! Practice makes perfect. Nightprowler has provided the pill heads and now in 1/32.

Very nice duck jigs, almost look just like mine. I can't get enough duck jigs, have hundreds of them. I dye a lot of my own, also use permanent neon markers as well to add some color.

Jim's duck jigs are good stuff. They are my favorite crappie jig, especially in cold water and anytime under a slip cork. Plate, the best time to get feathers will be November/December when the guys are shooting a lot of mallards, and the feathers are prime. Nothing like flank feathers straight off the duck!
