I just emptied out my Lee pot to get it ready to send in for repairs.Who has the contact info to get me started?Just can't have a leaking pour pot.I have the reciept and everything. Thanks in advance.
Well, this thing is only 8 months old and I should'nt have to pay anything to get it fixed, the way that I think, lol. That phone # has been busy for the last hour, called every 5 minutes.
Hey Bruce have u tried cleaning out the spout? It's probably got dirt and junk in it not letting the plunger come down. I've had to do mine several times.
I emptied it out today.I cleaned the inside out also.I'm going to try to clean it myself before I go sending it in,I guess.Looks like it was leaking on the side of the nossel spout, though.
Before you go nuts with it!!! Take the pot into a dark room and using a flashlight in the pot side see if you can see any light out the pour spout. If only a little it's clogged.
Take an old jig - straighten the hook out - cut off the hook point and barb - Useing pliers make an L shape on the end of it about 1/2" long.
Lay your pot with the back on the table and push that L shape up into the pour spout. I also use a screwdriver with a really long handle and a very strong thin flat head and use it to scrape around the pour spout inside the pot. Might take a couple of times to clear it out.
Here's one you don't hear alot about - where the handle frame brackets are loosen one up and using vise grips pull the metal rod out of the pot and check it!!! Lots of times you'll get a buildup on the beviled end that goes into the pour spout which doesn't let it fully close.
Sorry but all LEE pots with drip here and there - and yeah it drives you nuts but they work great!!!! Try the clean out before you send it back - and wait till you get through on the phone, before you send it back.
Thanks for the info.I took it apart and cleaned it all sparkling clean.Works perfectly now.Pretty simple. As long as the electric parts are still working the rest will be on me.If I need a part I'll just get it.
Bruce that's usually all it is. If the lead is melted it's working, my new pot did the same thing and I was using cleaned lead - just goes to show you that no matter how clean you think it is there's still some stuff in it.
One way to really keep it clean while pouring - Get a real long piece of spinner making wire - put a metal cup under the spout open to let the lead flow and put the wire down through the lead and out the spout and pull it back and forth a bit then pull it out and close the spout. Always works for me!!
