Going through some old gear tonight i ran across a blast from the past...

Anyone know what it is,or better yet ever used one ? and no Its not the thread ;)

It's a minnow brush bar. You tie the main line to the hole on one end and a very short length of line to the other that leads to the hook. That way you can lower a minnow down into thick brush without worrying about it wrapping the line around a branch. The heavy cover breaks up the outline of the bar.

Ding,ding,ding...We used to call em crappie sticks..we didnt tie any line to the minnow end,just a split ring and a # 4 gold aberdeen hook...

And your right Prowler,Ernest uses them to dispell the notion that crappie might be spooked bu high vis line.If they will bite one of those any line should be fine !
