I'd rather hit a carp with an arrow but they sure are fun on the ultra lite gear! This one took me to a tree and I still got it out. Speaks volumes about izorline XXX 2 lb. test fishing line.

Don't mind catchin them Mel - hate touchin or having to deal with them though. What a fight - started as a 4lb BG, then a 5lb bass, maybe a 10lb cat, then a big ol' stinkin carp popped up.

So no BGs at Vail? I would think that that place would have lots of nice sized ones-no one fishes for them. Maybe being in a boat would have helped?

$150 to launch a boat.

$20 to park - $10 to fish - float tube is another $20, gonna wait til it gets warmer for the BG. Northern strains are supposed to be huge. Tryin to keep it quite from chivo and his bed raping snag crew. Carp is ridiculous - they need to sponsor a carp shoot!!!

150 to launch ??? That's crazy. A family annual pass to my most expensive lake is barely that ?

Nice 30.00 carp btw ;)

Most expensive lake I fish is one of my home lakes. $15 permit, good for 6 months. There's a Summer Panfish/Catfish season, and a Winter Trout season. Trout season is about to close, need to spend another $15.

Next "most expensize lake" is a gorgeous little impoundment off in the hills. Limestone hills, water's fairly clear, small, great paddling lake. $10/year to fish, $10/year for a boat.
