Its fairly EZ to trim off the barb section of collar up to the ring with SHARP wire cutters or HD gate shears. Allows more tying room for an on shank undertie.

Yup I intend to do that on these. I plan to tie 6 of each one.

Very cool paints.

You can also squeeze barb section flat, in a vise or with pliers. File the barb and ring off. Won't loose balance or weight and get taller side profile.

Lot's of fun stuff when you create your own baits....

Zipped up 6 quickly just to get a look. I pinched the barb as suggested they look so much better. Thank you for the suggestions.

I really like the paint and the jig with the mallard flank are winners, nice work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I use the walleye mold with the ball collar and for certain jigs I cut the collar off but on buck tail jigs I keep the collar on, the difference with that head is the collar with the ball is smaller so you have more hook shank if you want to leave the collar on.
