Here is a nice fishing video that also presents quite a bit of life history information on the white bass, Morone chrysops. Included is a plug for JigCraft.com. :icon14:

Oh, and there's a little bit of jig info too. My friend Brian surprised me by using a jig that I tie and call a 'Chart Topper' for them. I would've never used this jig for white bass.

Further proof, to me, that it's the accomplished fisherman who makes a jig reputable... ;)

I wish I had a spot like that close by. They must be stacked up in there. You can't beat beautiful scenery and great fishing.

What a perfect place for kids - surprising lack of crowd? Do they jump the dam to get upstream?

Hawn, White bass do not jump the dam. Stream flow fluctuates down to a trickle in a matter of hours to a couple of days. Very little spawning is likely to occur in this area, yet they run it anyway when flow is sufficient.

Surrounding private property limits any crowd forming there.

Been told there's more to come... :)
