I was kind of wondering what I was going to tie when I got some time today and so looking for inspiration I came here and looked at a set of two tone jigs done by Fatman and then it clicked, a nice clean tie that just catches fish and so that is what I tied. The top jig is a 3/32oz walleye head painted brown with black flake (you can't see it on the pic but it is there) and has a brown sculpin colored UV2 rabbit strip and gold flash for a tail. Once the tail was tied in I tied some brown bucktail around the entire jig and then tied in natural bucktail over the top of the brown to finish the jig off. I'm really liking the look of using brown or black bucktail in tandem with the natural bucktail, it has a distinctive look in the water. The center jig is also a brown with black flake 3/32oz walleye head but this one doesn't have a tail. Instead I tied natural bucktail around the jig very sparse and then tied in a few strand of silicone colored red with black tips. Once I tied those in I then tied a little more natural bucktail around the jig and finished it with a few more silicone strands. The last jig is a 3/32oz walleye head painted black, the bottom of the jig is black bucktail while the top is done with chartreuse bucktail to finish off the jig. The black and chartreuse bucktail is one of my top producing hair jigs of all time, for some reason the river smallies just crush that color.
