These are more of my D special modified bucktails, I now have 2 dozen of these tied up and they are going to a guide a few hours away that takes clients on winter smallmouth trips and he gives me a lot of honest feedback to what works and what doesn't so if the weather holds up for another week I should get an idea of how thses fish. The top is a 1/16oz walleye head painted brown, it has a sculpin brown UV2 rabbit strip with gold flash for the tail, arctic ice chenille for the body and finished off with sparsely tied natural bucktail. The bottom jig is a 3/32oz walleye head painted green pumpkin, it has an olive rabbit strip tied in for the tail and then arctic ice chenille was used for the body finished off with natural bucktail tied in a little heavier than the top jig. What I am trying to do is make a small bucktail and add some bulk without adding too much weight and I also want the bucktail to flair a little more than what I can get it without the chenille. The other item I wanted to make happen was to add some subtle flash which is why some use the new age chenilles with the flash in them. I know they're boring but I wanted you to see the reason and these two make it easy to see the body in a picture.
