Pulled a muscle in my back (I think), so i HAVE TO sit after work and alternate heat and ice. Gave away my heat gun and fluid bed to a friend who wanted to start so no new trials with new paint yet but i found a few to fiddle with and thought i ought make use of sit time.

Tied some like so for Pistol:

Not very good pics but hope you can see 'em well nuff.

Im having a heck of a time trying not to scar the red paint on the hooks. Considering heat shrinking vice jaws and hemostat tips. Bad idea?
Any other ideas or input would be appreciated.

Adam,

I like your ties as is.

However, if you want to redden those golden flashes, I'd suggest a touch up with a red Sharpie permanent ink marker. The "touch up" won't really be permanent, just like the paint on the hook. Though, it will do for photography purposes.

Be sure to let the ink dry a while before handling the hook.

Adam hope the back is getting better. Nice ties Nicely Done. Think that they will work anywhere in the southern part of the USA. I have been useing a couple of the same patterns here for some nice bigg slabs.

Hope your back gets better really soon! I've had 3 bad disc since '95, and hope yours gets better soon and is only a muscle strain.

With that said, sweet job on those jigs. I need to order some from someone here to tie up. Maybe 50 or so.

couple of things you can use to protect the hook if you want - a small piece of shammy, if you have a soft tanned skin cut a small piece and trim the hair off and use that. You don't want anything smooth as your jig will slip.
