Satin jigs???

Okay this might sound a little dumb, i'm new to the site and i've noticed a lot of wool and satin jigs....so..what exactly are the wool and satin jigs? What makes them so good? and how do you tie them??

We are all learning to tie wth the wool and satins and seeing what jigs we can come up with. It's going to be interesting when the fishing reports start coming in while using the jigs.
Go to the ' Jig Fishing' forum and read the thread 'Vertical Jigging Master' lot of info there.

yeah jigmaker, ya need to learn the history behind these jigs first to appreciate them. they are really different than most jigs.

Yes it can - the satin is just regular satin cloth, some of the guys are using wool roving while others have raw wool, If you read the thread you'll really learn alot before you even start tying.

If you can't find satin fabric in the craft store look for 2" wide satin ribbon like I got from Michaels, it works well, all you need to do is make a fine cut on each side of the ribbon to release the fibers.

Okay thanks SJ I havn't been out yet to look for any materials, but i was seeing a lot of people say joannes fabrics has the materials problem is there isn't a joannes near where i live but there is a michaels. Does michaels also have the wool needed?
