Rosy Red Minnow

[Pup]

This is my impressionistic rosy red minnow with its black fins for added contrast. Tied on a 1/8-ounce ball head with a #2 hook. Plan to give it a try on the local smallmouth and largemouth bass.



This jig's length is approximately 3 inches.

Rosy red minnows are fathead minnow variants sold as forage for brood stock and are popular as bait.

That's a great looking rosie imitation,that's a great combination for crappie,too.

I always try to imagine what jigs would look like wet - this one should look pretty cool when all the colors blend together in the water!

Here's another 1/8-ounce rosy red jig version that I tied this AM. Tried a bit of pink over orange craft fur on the body with grayish-silver fur to represent some fins. The head is a salmon pink powder color that I mixed recently.

Nice ties, the rosie looks good!!!! smaller should be perfect for crappie and gills. Like to see them when you have them tied up.

I betcha some crappie will eat a 3-inch jig that looks like that, if that's the size of rosys in the water! Good ties.
