I checked out the Avid AV66LF and it does seem to have the action and sensitivity to throw very light jigs. A local rod builder suggested a Matrix AMSJ720 blank to build on and I am researching that as an option. I am not a fan of the microwave guides myself.

I built a 7' Avid ULF2 for an old boss for his retirement gift & he's in luv with it.

I have a 5'6" Avid ULF2 that's the cats meow for wading & hiking up trails chasing trout in the streams. Been wanting to build the 7' for me, but never got around to it.

Buddy gave me an RX8 UL blank - 6', 2-piece, for a steal that I use allot for light weigh lures going after brackish water perch that has enough back bone to land the occasional striper as a bonus fish.
