Been tying up some bass jigs with no tail, chenille body, silicone collar. I then use a Uncle Josh pork frog on the back of the jig. Makes a great spring time jig. Just wondering if anyone else does this?

Yep - also use a bit of bucktail under the silicone to flare it out a bit.

Stopped using the chenille body though because to create a smaller profile jig, I run the pig up the shank all the way.

But the chenille body was nice to add a bit of scent to the jig

In days gone by, I did a lot of Bass fishing and used pork frogs (homemade) with jigs and the old Johnsons Silver Minnow. One of my Favorite presentaions was a silver minnow with a 8" long pork trailer. Made these special and kept them very thin usually ~ 1/8 - 3/16" including skin and fat. Seemed to work best if suspended 1-2' below surface along the front of weedbeds.
