YJ, Not really. Most of these run just under 2 inches in length. I hope that's not too long. Have caught plenty of crappie on jigs of this length.

Adam, Yes it does. I think that wool isn't more popular with fly tyers because it absorbs water which adds weight to flies thereby making casting more difficult. Two other negatives might be that 1) it takes a long time to dry out after using and 2) when wet and drying, it smells a little bit too. Its thinness might scare away a few who are concerned about durability. But, then I think of marabou and the fact that it's a jig. I will likely lose it at some point.

FM, I buy my wool from Jo Ann Fabrics and from Old Tyme Pottery. I do believe that there are many fly tying suppliers that carry it. Crazy Angler Tackle is one of them.
