Pile of Spider/Pigs

Not sure what you want to call these, they are similar to both the spider grubs now popular and the good ol' fashion jig/pig. SMB and LMB both were loving these last year ( friend even caught a large drum on one )so i have been making up a bunch. Probably end up giving away just as many as i keep. Doing some here and there since October or so.... covering the color bases. Sizes range from 1/8 to 1/4.

The couple that have white tails i use more as swimming style jigs and the rest are pretty much slow bottom hoppers. The 'swimmers' work really well on smallmouith in my river. Loose alot of them down in the rip/rap when going after LMB in my local lakes.

Those look fantastic! I really like the green/browns. All of them look like fish catchers. Looks to be a little tricky tying in the silicone skirt layers. Not sure I would have the patience!

I like the downsize and material innovation from the same ol' commercial copycat mops. Always wondered why bass bite something so unlike their natural food sources?

I think the green/brown works most places. And what they actually mimic that would be crawling on the bottom of the lake......? Not really sure. Frogs/craws would be my best guess but i think it has more to do with the curiosity of bass. Something that would be bite sized down in the mud making a commotion, could be why the green/brown works so well - it is almost a camoflauge that hides what it actually is even more.

Downsized: The lighter weight jig/pigs that are available local to me are overall smaller. I try to keep my a biggier bulked up jig just with a lighter head. I really have no need for a 1/2 - 1 oz head since i rarely have thick weeds or cover to penetrate. ALOT of the time bass will pick them up before they ever hit bottom though so no clue what they would think they are then but the bigger bulk and lighter head slows the fall.
