I saw a Peak vise while in town with my wife.... She said if I was a good boy.... That I could get one for father's day.
Any body have any input on how they are? I have been tying on my old Thompson AA vise since high school... And have not tied on anything else besides my old streamside vise. It looked like a nice piece of equipment that was well made. Any input would be helpful! Thanks

Out here...
I had the opportunity to sit behind several vises this past weekend, most in the 200 buck range... They were all nice, but I do like my peak. As my abilities grow my peak will handle them. Some say you don't need a rotary to tye jigs, and they are right. You also don't need 4WD most of the time, but sometimes it saves a looooooong walk... JMO

I'm a DK fan but I've talked to alot of folks that have them and love em!!! They will tell you to make sure and pay extra for the add on handle for the rotary feature!!!

So Cal I.E.
Try a Regal before you make your final choice. I've tried a lot of vises, rotary, & in-line rotary and it always comes back to a Regal....

Hey Squeaky.....I have a Peak vise...LOVE IT! I can tye any size hook on it, has a wonderful grip on hooks, they DON"T move. Has a good weighted plate with rubber padded feet to keep it in place when tying, Has a bobbin holder, rotates.......It is a good vise to have. You better be good until Farther's Day. What you do after that, you are left with own devises....LOL!

Heather... Can you lock it so it doesn't rotate? I saw a knob on the one I looked at, but it didn't lock it... And vise still rotates.... Maybe it was just the display model???

yes, you can tighten it up so it does not rotate, not a true lock-out, and the screw tip puts tension on the shaft to keep it from rotating, I have not had any issues with mine.......
