PB Smallie

Got out today for a couple hours after Sunday chores were done. The 'Fish Bowl' again and was hoping to find some panfish for the freezer. My attempts were failing at both yellow perch and crappie so decided to try for a few gills throwing a 1/32 with a crawler. Got a thump on the line and made a hook set on something solid! Was thinking maybe i hooked into a walleye... till it jumped out of the water to near eye level!!! The smallie measured just a hair over 20". Not bad for an accidental catch. Quick pics and measured before release. :bigfish:

Yea,I'de say a lot better then a gill even if you did'nt get a 1/2 lb. fillet in the freezer,lol.

Thanks everyone, sorry for the slow reply.

RonDon - I will say it sure did suprise me! I will take what i can get.

LH - The 'fish bowl' is one of my favorite little lakes. Not many fish it and once you are down on the water or on the rip-rap, you can't see a house anywhere. Makes it feel like your own private lake.

Jig Man & Fatman - Sure was!!! On my UL rod with 4lb. mono... doesn't get much better.

JJ1 - I have a hunch there are even bigger in there already.
