I'll get my real camera out and take good pics. But for now, here's what I tied tonight. Some of Redman's custom heads.... I like 'em! We'll see if the fishies do tomorrow. Gadwall flank tail with pink hackle belly.

That is a 1/24 oz head according to my scale. That is a old faithful head I have used since the 1970's. You did a Cracker Jack job on those jigs Zac. That head never looked better or was never dress any better than that Nicely Done Great Job.

Thanks guys! Redman, the heads are bang-up...love 'em. That particular head color combination caught me a lot of fish today. That style of head is gonna flat murder crappie this spring!

Nice ties!!!!! I like that combo, and yeah I have a few of those heads from the swap box on the other board. With the cold up here in the NE I might be trying some powder painting this weekend, if the BOSS doesn't have plans for us LOL.

Fatman, powder painting is cake. All I did on these was paint the whole head chartreuse, then used a straw to pick up a tiny bit of black and orange. Tap the straw and a little bit of paint comes out at a time. That's how I add the extra.

Zac yeah I know how to do it but I've just been having way too much fun pouring jigs right now!!!!! The wife is supposed to be teaching a life guard class this weekend and I'm thinking of pouring some more!!!!!!!! Gotta build up the levels in the storage box's after material swap box's, and outright trades.

Have tried both ways and the tap/brush method is way easier IMO. It took me some practice to get it to look right to my own eyes but will not go back. The higher up and lighter you tap spreads a finer layer of color and is good to get a smooth color change. Closer and harder you tap makes a sharper contrast and more blunt color change. Keep the head heated up - lets you see instant results of what you tapped on too. If that makes sense. :beer: :jig:
