I bought these 40mm fly reels on eBay after reading reviews saying how tiny and useless they were for fly fishing. Most reels I found for crappie jigging seem to have a lot of plastic parts or are all plastic. I'm curious to see if these all aluminum reels will work good. They defiantly are small and light, it feels like I am holding just a pole. They were about $15.00 from china. Anybody ever use small fly reels? Once I find my depth I hardly even touch a reel anyway, I usually hold the line and pull the fish up that way or if they are shallow I just plop em in the cooler and drop it back in the water.
