This fly works great trolled slow and deep for lake Cutthroat. It has out performed all other flies for me in that respect. I can't help but think it would work just as well for Crappies trolled in short jerks over weed beds or around stumps.

Hook: Mustad, Size 8, Streamer.
Thread: UNI, 6/0, Burnt Orange.
Tail: Orange Marabou.
Body: Burnt Orange Tinsel Chenille.
Head: Orange Bead.
Cement: Griff's Thin Multi-Layer.

How do you troll your flies in deep water - are you using down riggers or a 3-way swivel system?

I troll with a fly rod with a full sink line, rowing slowly behind a pontoon boat or jon boat. Works great. I can get down about 45 feet with all my line out.
