My Padna let me borrow his Lee pot & half a dozen of his mold's and today I poured my 1st jig heads. NOW, I'm gonna have to get me one!!
My 1st afternoon of pouring (I know in the time it took me to pour these, my Padna woulda had at least twice that many done)

Sometimes, its more fun to cast a bunch of jigs than to tie a bunch. There is something primeval about the act of transforming that chunk of lead into something useful. If you watch closely, you can occasionally find a new Lee Production Pot IV for under 50 buck including shipping and The Pro for a few bucks more. Last fall I found a new Pro for 48 including shipping. Not sure why, but I bought it anyway.

For the size jigs I routinely cast, the IV is a great size. Casting my Spoon mold is a bit much for it but it keeps up as long as I pay attention cast the 3/4. 1. and 1/1/2 ounce baits goes thru a lot of lead. I have 1 pound ingots so every 7-8 casts, I need to add an ingot. If I dont pot will start getting low quickly

Kdog, if you ever run across another deal like that, shoot me a pm! I've found #IV's for around $50 but none yet with. Shipping included, & most are asking around $10 to ship it. I might even consider taking that pot you don't need of your hands.....you know, I just want to be a blessing! :D

Will keep my eyes open. One never knows. Saw one at a swap meet a few weeks ago was barely used. Wife was with me so I could not spend the 35.00 he was asking for it.

Pepop, Tackle Warehouse sells the Lee Bottom pour lV for $56.95 but it is free shipping so it works out. You have now crossed over, next thing you know there will be so many molds you won't know which to make!!!

Spend the extra on the pot (buy new) - don't buy someone else's headache...

Pays for it's self really quick.

Sure wish I could find a couple molds like Ron Din has, the Fish Head & his 1/12oz Minnow Head. That'd be cool!

Save the money and have your own molds cut. You're in for the long haul now! Good work.
