More Jig-N-Worms

Tied a couple more jig-n-worms this evening. The blue firetail is about 7.5 inches long and the green with black tail measures 5 inches. Used large #5 and #6 chenille yarns made by Lion Brand. Plan to fish the blue one for largemouth bass and the green one for both largemouth and smallmouth bass.

Each jig is tied on a 1/8-ounce football head with a #1 or a 1/0 hook.

Perhaps a tutorial on how you do your jig-n-fly. Please. What kind of bungy do you use?

Pup- Looks awesome. I tie these on a smaller scale for bluegill. Suggestion for you to try. Tie a small stinger hook about an inch or so in from the end. I use braid or mono and wrap chennile around line. If you would like to try some smaller ones use the ultra chennile.

What kind of bungy do you use?

The rubber is from a cord that I believe I bought at a drugstore. One of those $1 or $2 bin deals. Basically, I lucked into this rubber once I took the cord apart.

Examine a bungee cord where it's crimped to hold the hook at its end. You can examine the rubber strand thickness there. I believe that mine are 18 to 20-inch long cords. The rubber strands may be 1/8 to 1/6 of an inch thick.

Finally, here's an eyeless worm, tied last night, for big smallmouth bass. Its length is approximately 6 inches.

The craft fur is simply tied onto the end of the rubber. The rubber is held between the vise jaws. Finish with knot(s) of your choice (i.e., half hitches or whip finish).
