Been tying with Christmas tinsel and thread quite a bit lately.  I find it interesting that more jigs aren't tied with nothing but tinsel.  Would think that pike and trout would hammer them.  Here are a few jigs, some featuring multi-colored Christmas tinsel, tied in a variety of configurations.  I've added a safety pin spinner to several of them which might make them a bit more enticing.

I think that it's important to note that Uni Thread works exceptionally well for tying tinsel securely around a jig collar.

Thanks JM. :) Hook sizes are #2 Aberdeen and #4 sickle for jigs weighing 1/8 and 1/16th of an ounce, respectively.

I like those, especially the multi colored ones. Tinsel rigs are very popular slow trolled for Spanish and other surf fishes.

pup those are looking great! there is a flash fly tied with kreinik flash which I buy from mossy creek fly fishing I believe in Virginia, and the fly is known to catch some large rainbows etc. I meant that I buy the raw flash material in gold and silver and tie it on crappie jigs, it's a little expensive but it really catches fish at times when other jigs won't, this stuff is very thin and moves effortlessly.

Looking good, I like the green/red/gold/purple one.  You do know that you can only fish those around Christmas time though.  :D  That sparkle should work great in dark water and they should move really well.
