Marabou Crappie Jigs

[Pup]

Tied on 1/16-oz. ball heads with #4 hooks. I used marabou feathers instead of craft fur as "full body material" for a change of pace. I like the ease of working with craft fur. Marabou took a little getting used to.



Materials:

• Zucker Feather Products Marabou - white
• Harbor Freight Powder Paint - white
• UTC Ultra Thread (140 denier) - fl. fire orange
• Rustoleum American Accents Latex Enamel - orange glow
• Black acrylic craft paint
• A 1/16-oz ball head jig with a #4 red hook
• Devcon 2 Ton Epoxy for topcoat

You can have The craft fur all day. That stuff is hard to figure out as far cutting goes.
Got some green n yellow chart. If u wanna trade a bit.

I don't use drill bits. Instead, I use finishing nails and brads. Your trade is tempting. However, I do have plenty of chartreuse and limetreuse craft fur currently. Thank you very much for offering.

Great ties Pup...There are times in the winter out here that they will not hit a jig with a chenille body... A solid marabou jig like that has saved some trips for me ... Nice Work

Only the master of craft fur could say "the ease of working with craft fur". I personally find marabou much easier to work with and have had my struggles at times with the craft fur. I guess it's all about what materials you spend the most time using. Great looking jigs. If I were ever forced to pick only one material to be able to tie with it would be white marabou. White is highly visible in most all water conditions and mimics the colors of most baitfish sides and bellies (and usually gamefish are attacking from below or the side). Also I love the movement of marabou as it pulsates beneath a float in even the slightest of current or even while being lightly jigged. I'd tie up some of those with red thread wrapped collars as well to give the impression of a wounded bait fish with bleeding gills. Nice work.
