Got for a few hours this morning with Jungle Jim & Crappie Mike. Both got PB BGs (CM 10.25" and JJ 10") and JJ got his PB RE (11.25"). CM used a 1/32nd chub and JJ was using his 1/32nd Pillhead Flash Duck - orange and chartreuse.

The bite Tuesday was off the hook, lot's of doubles, triples and even quads and that was with only three of us fishing. The colors on the gills were incredible, pictures didn't do them justice. Each day the fishing got better and Tuesday was the best day for numbers. I had a great time out there and Led was a great host putting me on lots of fish every day. It was hot out there and came home to more heat. When I was leaving Denver the pilot said it was 98 in St.Louis at 8 PM.Record heat the last three days in St.Louis with temps teaching 103-104. I got back to the vise and tied more of the stuff that worked out there. That wall of gills was incredible, those are some huge gills and hopefully I'll catch one like those someday. Thanks again Led,I had a great time and met lot's of very nice people. That's a fun group out there and once I got the hat dialed in I was ready to go. I wore that hat through the airport and while waiting for my luggage my wife walked right past me without recognizing me. I had to call her and ask her where she was going. She asked where I was and I told her she just walked right past me. I figured that she would know me after 32+ years but I was wrong.

DC - we use a HB 788 (should have got the 798) just for the bottom, water temp, GPS, & speed. Mostly slow troll structure to find the big biters and fish it.

Thats a brotherly looking bunch in front of The Great Wall. Hoping I can happen upon some more comradery like that in the future with friedly people.
Those fish are amazingly abnormal. I need to try to focus more on some bream.
Would love to hear/learn the troll setup. I've never trolled for anything, freshwater anyways, but it seems to be the go to as I learn more. One day I'll give it a try when I get a real boat.

Thx for sharing.

DC - that is Big Jim's wall - all BG, on the wall, caught by mealworm. The majority of the fish were caught on jigs that I tyed. This is only some of the 2lb BG & RE that we have taken from Lake Perris.

LP - you get out here and I will take you BG & RE fishing.
