Very tough trip had to sit out 2 days of wind & rain in Riverside - yes 2 days. Couldn't go to Havasu until the 17th. Me and Jim tried some shore fishing close to the place we were staying at. Not a lot of fish but a lot of information.
Keith showed up with the boat that evening and we fished AM & PM the 17th and AM on the 18th. JJ got a 4lb 9oz RE on a crawdad. No 3s for me except a 3lb 9oz SM (crawdad). Also got a PB striper. Lots of very nice BG. Too much SM action. Buddy Keith went all out - true friend indeed.

Hj - fish was 17.5" X 18" (world record was 17" X 19.5"). Saw the mounts for the last 2 world records at Bass Tackle Master in Havasu City on the way home.

Just got home. Tired but the trip was definitely worth it. The time to catch a world record would be in mid April. Definitely want to go back there next year in April. Set the hook and it pulled about 20 yards off the drag in a couple seconds. Got it to the boat and it wrapped itself in the anchor rope and before it could pull free Keith reached down with the net and scooped it up. I owe him big time!!! Yes, this one is going on the wall. I'll post a picture of it in a few months when I get it back.

Hj - they keep Havasu full because of the hydro electric production - probably irrigation too.

Buddy Keith said the fish is 17" X 18"

qk - very due able with a fly rod..... Sure you could break some tippet classes - I'm very interested in doing that.
