LashMax Yarn Jigs for Bass

[Pup]

Plum brown heads (Harbor Freight mix) with caffeine (dark brown) LashMax eyelash yarn tied in over the collar. Used brown and orange craft furs for the tail. Cinched everything down with brown-colored trilobal polyester thread.



Heads are 1/8 of an ounce with #2 hooks.

Like the look of the seperate body/tail, would guess it would give 2 distinct actions in the water with a slower movement from the body and a whippy tail.

Have to ask..... the eyelash yarn used is a dark brown color?? The heads look brown and i can see both brown & orange in the tail - but the body yarn looks to be a dark purple on my screen.

Thanks for your comments AF. The tails on these do move pretty well in the water. I think that you'd be nicely surprised with the action of the body. Though bulky, the body presents a relatively large profile with good movement as well.

Now, to the yarn's color... I cannot seem to take a decent picture lately. The yarn appears purplish on my screen too. But, believe me, it's not. Perhaps, I need more light and/or a different white balance setting when shooting it.

Coincidentally, I plan to tie some purple jigs using LashMax in a color called "electricity". We'll see how their photos turn out. With my luck lately, those will likely look blue on the board.

... or brown! Ha! I know what you mean though - last pics i took of jigs, i must have taken 20 pics before i could get them to look right. The thing that finally made the colors pop out right was when my hand was in the background. Not too sure why it worked out that way but it did. I was trying to take the pics under flourscent light but was in a kind of dark corner of the room.

Very nice Pup. How well do you think a jig tied like that on a small head would work for shotting docks. May tye up a few and try them next week.

Shooting docks? Hmm.... That's "bow and arrow" casting a jig into the water beneath a dock structure, generally done by crappie fishermen, right? It's worth a try. Though, I like this material mostly for bass jigs. It adds a larger profile to a smaller jig and provides pretty good "action".

Yeah Pup, after thinking on it I believe there would be to much movement for the crappie around docks since the crappie are feeding on minnows. Love the jigs and may try them on crappie sometime. Thanks.
