Any hope of getting some of the jigs back? I bet there is a few tons of led in those tires.

Hate to hear that.....reading articles will be 4th straight year of drought. They are talking about the high pressure of the coast keeping the normal rain to get into the west. Very interesting articles.

Marina is only 8' Todd. Now I know why we use to get (hook) so many catfish at the reef - never imagined how spread out it is. You can walk out (some wading) to the island on the backside.

It's a little bit better up north Brett. We need a lot more snow cap!!!

Why is it that people believe that any body of water is a good place to dump used tires?

I see this in East coast rivers allot .. although a tire is makes good cover for fish to hide in, and I never miss the opportunity to cast a jig over one, I've floated rivers from Maine to FL and see tires in every one.

CA's hurt'n for water, but after being out there for a couple week, it amazes me how many golf courses, industrial complexes, and home have beautiful well watered lawns.

Personally, I think that the 'tire reefs' were put there deliberately as artificial fish structures. Not an uncommon fisheries management practice in some areas. Perhaps Perris is relatively featureless. LedHed mentions catching so many cats at the tires...prime cover and spawning sites.

Gotta agree with JSC. Great time to scout while hoping for rain.

Wish we could pack all this snow up and put it in there for ya to raise the water level

Yeah, I just got done shoveling enough to raise the lake an inch or so (just kidding, but my back feels like it).

Sonny, I feel your pain. One of my home lakes is down 11 feet right now. There's all sorts of stuff popping up.

I, too, noticed that boat. Sunken Skeeter, perhaps?

These tires are the huge tractor & earth mover tires - good thing. They were left at the completion of the dam. We had been fishing these at around 15 - 21 FOW for the last 5 years. Our reservoirs - lakes don't have a lot of structure so we have to fish anything we can find. Right now they have 4 sunk boats marked in the marina ( starting to hold fish with warming water).

Fun as it must be to finally see the structure you fish..... sure hope you can gain back some of that lost water soon.

With the surrounding terrain in the background, hard to believe there isn't much structure.

Couple of lakes i fished as a kid around Akron had artificial reefs made from tires. There was a Goodyear Tire plant right around the corner.... thinking they might have owned the lake at the time. The reefs held a lot of perch and bluegill.

That's nuts Sonny! I have not been out there for a long time. I knew the tires took up a huge area because John's (skunked again) side scanner showed us this. There's lots of my jigs, hooks and lures in those tires. Looks like there's a brush pile too-
