Finally will be getting on the ice tomorrow evening to look for the Crappie Night Bite and will be trying some of the Satin/Wool jigs. I am also making a few 1/124 #10 gold plated just in case they want a smaller bait...

Nice simple tie - could see those nailing some hungry crappie.

Heading out after dark on the ice has to be one of the most humbling experiences you can do while fishing IMO. Best of luck to you and be safe. Going to try and get out on Sunday morning myself after some perch or gills....... or ANYthing that wants to bite.

I bet those crappie would love a little snack like that. This time of year little baits like that will catch a lot more than big baits,at least that's how it is with me.

Nice!! Are you guys out in the open or inside a tent shelter??

We each have a Shappell Rover pull over but I fished out in the open this evening and the best part tonight was the use of my new Strikemaster Electric ice auger.Worked like a charm and saved alot of time drilling numerous holes...The ice was 7 inches..

Glad u found a few fish Len. Seven inches! Must be cold! So what's the minimum thickness of ice that u are comfortable fishing on?

4 inches is good for me but have to be careful on different lakes at this thickness..

Sounds like you had a good time. Nice fish - you keep catching them that size you are going to need a bigger auger attachment - looks like she would have been a tight squeeze getting through you hole! :bigfish:

Looks like nice clear ice.... 4 to 5 inches is my minimum too, but there are people who claim to get out on 3 inches.
