just a little venting

Ok let me start by saying I dont sell jigs to get rich so that isnt what this is about and half the time if i know the person I sell em for about cost. so anyway heres my beef.

I live 3 blocks from cabelas and shop there alot well one day I'm checking out thier jigs (looking for ideas) and I'm wearing my jiggin Joe's shirt. well there is a guy there that is dropping tons of packets of a certain feather jig (dont wanna use names) in his basket at 2.59 per pack of 2. anyway he notices my shirt and says you make jigs I say yeah blah blah and he asked what kind I said hair feather chenille blah blah. well after talking awhile he asked me what I charge I said depending on the jig .75 to 1.00 a piece he then says oh thats kinda high I was like WTF and said to him your kidding right you have a basket full of machine tied pieces of crap at 1.25 a piece!! I said 1 of my Hand tied jigs would last as long as all of those together!! I said when you get home take one out and pull on those feathers and then check out my website

Vent on my friend..I agree with you 100%...I don't sell jigs but most of my friends(?) think I should tie them jigs for free...Did i mention that they think I should buy their material too? Not...........

I worked for Cabelas so I know what you are talking about. Many times I saw the same thing,but kept my mouth shut because OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST. One reason I quit. The guy is an idiot so he probably won't check your site. His loss,more fish for you to catch.

I have to agree that some people are very cheap when it comes to jigs. I use to pay $3.99 to 4.50 per 3 pack of jig heads before I started using Keith's and some people pay over $7.00 per 3 pack... as for a hand tied bucktail jig people are paying $2 to $7 bucks each..So I feel for ya when somebody tells you that .75 to 1 is to much.

Vent away Joe!!! I get that all the time with custom rods. I hear, well I can buy that rod for 19.95 at Gander Mtn. I tell them, go ahead and when it breaks, which it will, take it back to Gander Mtn to fix it. No they can't buy my rod for 19.95 at anywhere. Most people have no idea of the difference between custom and store bought, so there is no sense argueing with them. My friends must think Crazy Angler sends me
all that stuff for free as I seem to be their jig supplier now. If I'm fishing with you and you see something you want to try....my box is your box,
but don't expect me to furnish you with jigs and your friends for the rest of your life at no cost! I usually supply the boat, gas, lures and rods if they need em....but you'd better bring lunch money cause I'm eatin on your dollar!!!

flatsrat....Yeah, the Dells are great for the kids, especially with all the water park facilities now. But it ain't cheap for poor old dad! Now, that I think about it.....either I'm gittin old or they threw the word "cheap" out of the dictionary!!!!!!

I goy lucky my mom gets 2 condos at wilderness territories so all we got to pay for is gas, food and any extra entertainment that isnt included in are stay. we have kitchens so we save alot cooking are own food and with all the stuff to do at the resort we dont have to go anywhere else. we have been doing this for 5 years now its alot of fun its kinda are little family reunion. my mom stepdad brother, sister and her family and me and my family all go. If it was'nt for Ho Chunk casino and my wife I could probly go on $100 for the week lol. this year will be even better cause our 1st grandson will be with.
