Two that I have been working on over the last couple of nights.
craw was a way easlier tying then I thought it would be. have to try some dark olive tomorrow.


Hook: size 8 round bend
Head: 1/16 oz ballhead, black & saphire blue
Body: black dubbing, Chenille black under dubbing to build up size, blue flash wrap
Tai & legsl: black goose biots
Wingcase: Turkey

Head: 1/16 oz ballhead,copperhead & saphire blue
Body: rust dubbing, Rust marabou
Claws: Rabbit zonkers rust, rubber legs

These are some of the best trout jigs I've seen. Those would catch trout anywhere. Are you using light spinning tackle or a fly rod to throw them?

I am using these on light-ultra light spinning tackle. wish the weekend would get here already. I have some testing to do. :jig:

same as last craw just in an olive.

Hook: size 6 sickle bend
Head: 1/16 oz ballhead
Body: light olive dubbing, dark olive marabou
Claws: Rabbit zonkers olive, rubber legs

That stonefly is very cool..... but the craw is an amazing pattern - will definetly have to try that one!

That's a killer craw. If it was a little lighter it would pass as a softshell which in that size would catch everything.

Wish I could take credit for it. good old basspro. when I go home for lunch I will get the manufacturer. I also trimmed up the hair about 1/4"-3/8". hair is long enough it could have been used for size 2 craw's easy.

thanks guys. one suggest I will give is... when you fold the marabou back over to the jig head, after a couple of standard wraps. make a couple of wraps around the eyelet. 1) it helps make the tail look flatter and 2) it gets the marabou away from the eyelet making it easier to attach your line.
you can't see it as well on the rust one. but the olive one it really stands out.

haven't had a chance to get on much the last few day, or tie for that matter. but here are a couple nymphs I tied up tonight.

Hook: size 8 sickle bend
Head: 1/16 oz ballhead, gold
Body: dark olive dubbing, turkey wingcasing
Tail/legs: Dark brown goose biots

Body: light tan dubbing, red wire wrap, turkey wingcasing
Tail/legs: white goose biots

ants!! been tying a bunch but most of the same as I have done before, just different colors and such.
tonight was different and I wanted to try out an ant pattern.

Hook: size 10 aberd bend
Head: 1/32 oz ballhead, black and red
Body: black and red dubbing, with black hackle
