Is this a long ear?

I caught this while bass fishing the other day and I have no idea if it is a long ear or a red breast.......what do you think?

Looks like what we call a "River Brim" or "Swift Water Brim" & "Red Belly"
Not a "Red Ear"(Shellcracker) ..

I would go with a long ear or a longear cross. Most long ears I've caught have a lot more color. I know diet has a lot to do with color as does does season and water make up

Jim, I think I like your suggestion. I've never seen a red breast that was this vivid in color, perhaps it is a hybrid.

I've never caught a red breast here in Missouri but have seen pictures of them. Have caught many green sunfish and the head certainly has the look and coloration of one, coloration along the back is similar as well. They cross regularly with bluegill and other sunfish here. Cool looking fish.

I don't have a clue.......... but if it was on my line i would assume long ear because, well, it has a long ear. :huh:
