So, what are you chasing? Trout? If so, you should do good with a couple of the ties I've seen posted.

The Condo is on Tablerock, but I'm hoping to get over to Taneycomo for Trout. We are here with another couple and everyone besides me is planning my days. I have told them I will tag along today, but Saturday is my day. What is Ziplining anyways??? That's what they have planned today. I'm prolly gonna be stooping and puking afterwards. I'm no spring chicken anymore.

Ziplining...... How about this? :D

I am guessing it will be a little more tame than that though.

'Twas a beautiful morning on Taneycomo this morning, somewhere in the 40's. I was in short sleeves and blue jeans cause that's how I roll. I woke up at 6:45 and walked down to the shore. There were a handful of fishermen with good, friendly banter amonst us. A speed boat came along every few minutes, but what can ya do, but grin and bear. Clear stream, beautiful place to fish, chat and relax. I was the only one from my clan to go fish. We arrived Thursday afternoon, but Friday I didn't feel like fishing. I think I had a stomach virus, but it was gone by Saturday, but I didn't get a chance to fish. I finally told my group that I was fishing Sunday morning and so I did. I fished. I saw several jumping, but never got so much as a bite. I had midges, scuds, something I picked up called a wd40, and lots of stuff I had tied. It didn't make me feel any better, but no one else was catching either. One of the regulars mentioned something about the generators being on and it would be slow. It didn't stop my fun at all. I picked up some good pointers from a couple of retired gentlemen that do nothing but golf and fish. Their words not mine. I snapped a few pictures, but to be honest, I was so busy chatting about the area with these fellows, I didn't get many pictures. I hope you enjoy.

I stayed at the Pointe Royal Golf Resort and my condo was walking distance to the fishing shore. I thought my wife had told me the Condo was on Tablerock, but as it turned out, I was fishing Taneycomo. I want to go back again!!! I think I could live here!!!

Nice pics of a gorgeous place and weather! Sure is a skinny "lake". On a map, it appears you're in a prime area close to the dam, and uncrowded too. Looks like high water, is the trouting better with lower flow?

The current Google Map satellite view clearly shows the access areas and preferred low water stands of the upper "lake". Detail is amazing, note the two kayaks beached on an island and their occupants wading.

My guess is we were about 2 miles from the dam. Sign on Hwy said 1.7 miles to dam. I would have liked to have had more time to fish, as it was I was only able to fish a little while Sunday morning. That's ok, I'm already planning my next trip in the spring. I found a guide at a fly shop right down the road. I was able to talk to him and his wife before I left town. They were a nice couple, so I biyght a few of their flys to bring home. As soon as I get a chance, I'll post a few more pictures.
