I got to fish some hackle tail 1/32oz jigs I tied for the first time today. Wow! I love how they look and how they fish! And the crappie liked 'em too. 30 keepers between 3 of us!

Um.... #6 I think. "The" color changed throughout the day, but there always needed to be chartreuse or orange in the mix. I was using black head, black gold chenille, orange tail and black head, blood brother chenille, and chartreuse tail with good success. The first combo was absolute money for me today!

Im about 90 % hackle out here,and even the colors you mentioned work well too !

I seem to do well with black/black/_______ ... Changing the color of the tail. Chartreuse, orange, pink, blue are my favorites.

Been fishing with bou more years than I care to admit... But since ya'll got me started tying and sending hackle jigs in swaps... I'm gonna have to try it. But dang it I just had a flock of turkeys fly in front of my pick-up!!!

All three colors are nice combos. It is surprising how at how well the black catches fish.
