Im a little over 500 miles from the coast, but we've had the remnants of the hurricane that came in south of Brownsville on Thursday, sitting on top of us for 3 days now.Our annual rainfall here is 18 " but most of the city has had between 7-12" in just the last two days. Finally was able to get out a little while ago to see what was still above water,,,,,not much :beat-up:

One of our City park playgrounds.

My favorite golf course, under 7-10 ' of water.

Sun is finally trying to breakout, so hopefully the worst has passed...

Well, at least the water looks clean...

Is this type of flooding unusual in your area? How will it affect your fishing?

I've heard that Texans like to brag about big, but, we got 39" in a 24 hr. period around 10 yrs. ago.

Pretty unusual for us,historically maybe a 20-25 year event, although its our second one of this size in two years.

Fishing will be mixed. Our best lake is closed until further notice, with the level @ 9.2 ' over the spillway. Our only other lake(only 35 miles apart) has been 24-25 ' low for the last couple of years, but has caught 5 ' and is still rising !!!!
